Define the sale and the session controls
The setup covers product or service data, prices, taxes, permitted payment methods and cashier roles. Supervisors need clear rules for discounts, voids and refunds. Opening cash, cash movements and closing differences should be part of the process rather than left to informal end-of-day notes.

Yes for taking orders: Odoo POS keeps selling during an outage and syncs when the connection returns. Offline behaviour depends on version, deployment and the function being used. The acceptance test should demonstrate new sales, stored records, printing and resynchronisation on the selected setup. External payment services and integrations may still require connectivity, so the scope records the actual limitations rather than relying on an offline label.
Can POS sales update inventory and accounting?
Yes. The integration is configured around product types, stock locations, payment methods and session posting rules. We test sales, returns and closing outputs together. The timing and detail of updates depend on the chosen configuration; finance should approve the reports and reconciliation process before live trading.
