The announced Custom-plan price increase
In its September 2026 announcement, Odoo states that the Custom plan rate increases by 20%, while Standard and Education plan pricing stays unchanged. That is an announced plan change, not a guaranteed 20% increase on every existing invoice. Ask for your applicable renewal quote and employee classification before comparing alternatives.
What changed in the Odoo 20 pricing conversation
At review on 28 September 2026, Odoo’s published pricing describes Light Users for limited access and employee records without login access. Its subscription agreement also defines qualifying active employee records within that category. The impact on an existing customer depends on the signed agreement, version, renewal and written quote. We do not assume a universal percentage increase or publish a single UAE price as applicable to every business. The official pricing and agreement links below are the starting point for verification.
A budget model, not a promised saving
Use your quoted annual full-user and Light User rates, with eligible headcounts that avoid counting the same person twice. Add services, hosting and modules. For Community, add implementation or migration plus the full operating and maintenance budget; the Community core does not carry Enterprise seat charges. Over three years, compare both complete totals and include a contingency for replacement features. The result may favour either edition.
