Odoo Purchase: buy at the right price, on time
RFQs, supplier comparisons, approval chains, and three-way matching — purchasing that protects margin instead of leaking it.
Odoo Purchase connects supplier quotations, purchase orders, receipts and vendor bills. Pandoratech configures procurement around approval authority, supplier terms, quantities and financial controls. The goal is a traceable buying process, with partial deliveries, returns and price differences handled through an agreed workflow instead of disconnected documents.

UAE compliance notes
Import purchases can feed landed costs and reverse-charge VAT entries, and supplier TRNs are kept on vendor records. Your finance team approves the tax treatment.
Define buying authority and supplier terms
The procurement design names who requests, compares, approves and receives a purchase. Supplier product codes, price lists, minimum quantities, currencies and lead times need consistent records. We identify which approval rules are standard and which require a reviewed module or custom workflow.
A quotation comparison should account for units, quantities, delivery and payment terms, not just the displayed unit price. Changes after approval need a defined route. Buyers and finance agree how purchase commitments are reported and who can see costs or orders across companies.
Match the order, receipt and bill
Test a purchase through partial receipt, backorder, supplier bill and payment handoff. The bill-control approach determines whether billing follows ordered or received quantities. Price and quantity exceptions need an owner so staff know when to investigate, approve or dispute a supplier document.
Supplier returns, damaged goods and credit notes should be part of acceptance. Imported goods may also need landed-cost allocation and additional accounting review. Reports become useful when supplier dates and promised quantities are entered consistently; vendor performance should be based on agreed measures and reliable source data.

Frequently asked questions
Can we require approval before a purchase is confirmed?
Yes. Purchase approvals can be scoped around value, role, company and exception rules. The selected edition and modules determine which controls are standard and which require development. Acceptance tests should cover an ordinary order, an over-limit order and a change after approval, including who may authorise each action.
How are supplier bills checked against receipts?
The design sets bill-control rules and the process for price or quantity differences. Test the relationship between ordered, received and billed quantities, including partial delivery. A matching feature needs the right configuration and operating discipline; it should not be assumed to block every possible exception automatically.
Can purchasing connect to stock replenishment?
Yes. Replenishment can be configured around agreed stock rules, supplier lead times and purchase workflows. We test when a requirement produces a procurement action and how buyers review it. Product units, minimum quantities and route configuration must be reliable before automated purchasing is approved.
